koppla is building the go-to scheduling tool for construction projects. By providing an incredibly simple to use scheduling tool that makes collaboration easy, we help construction projects stay on time.

We are looking for a Head of Business Operations to join koppla as a key member of our leadership team. In this role you will directly report to and act as a right hand to the CEO, driving operational excellence across the organization. You will take over the ownership for Finance, People, and Operations, be deeply involved in investor relations and oversee & work across multiple departments to streamline activities. You’ll directly lead a team of 2 people.

Compensation: €95-120k + significant equity

Location: Berlin, hybrid setup

What you'll do

Finance

Own strategic finance operations and build scalable frameworks to allow koppla to do further fundraises
Focus on high-level financial planning and analysis while day-to-day AP/AR is handled by existing team

People & Culture

Partner with our People & Culture manager to drive hiring strategy and attract top talent as we scale from 20 to 40+ employees
Shape company culture by implementing structured processes: leveling systems, development plans, and growth frameworks

Investor Relations

Lead fundraising efforts and manage relationships with institutional investors and VCs
Organize advisory board meetings and build strong stakeholder relationships to support company growth

Operations

Drive operational excellence through strategic planning cycles, cross-team alignment, and key initiatives (internationalization, process optimization)
Oversee legal operations and compliance

Who we're looking for

This role is perfect for someone who thrives on solving complex challenges while building processes that scale having. You could be coming from a consultancy background and are ready to transition into the startup ecosystem, having 3-6 years of professional experience. You are likely a great fit if:

You have strong operational experience with financial analysis and excel at diving deep into data and spreadsheets to drive decisions
You have a proven track record as an executor - someone who gets things done efficiently and consistently delivers results
You have experience in Finance (including FP&A processes like budgeting and forecasting), People & Culture, or Operations, ideally in a fast-paced startup or scale-up environment
You are adaptable and pragmatic - you can work with ambiguity, recognize where processes are needed, and build them without over-engineering
You have excellent communication skills (German + English) and can collaborate effectively across teams and with external stakeholders (investors, advisors, etc.)
